Last month we had very memorable Open Water and Enriched Air certifications with Emily (primarily) who was kind but firm and always enthusiastic and competent. We also experienced 2 amazing guided dives with Roan. They both took the extra time to work with teens (and their bumbling dad) and helped us form lifelong memories and (hopefully) a passion for diving. Other staff at Dive Friends were similarly upbeat, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Thank you again!

Decided on this scuba shop and team due to great reviews and recommendations and I will say they did not disappoint. The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. I absolutely recommend this place for your scuba needs when on the island. Everyone worked hard here to deliver the best experiences while on vacation. Definitely will return and be a repeat customer. Thanks for the great experiences and memories.

Needed to get a pressure-resistant container right before the dive. Staff was very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The store has a decent selection of high-quality gear at reasonable prices. If you need something while you are in Kralendijk, this is definitely a good option.

For our first trip to Bonaire, we chose Dive Friends for an Open Water referral course in addition to our host dive shop during our eight-night stay. We selected Dive Friends for its convenient locations near our hotel and across the island, allowing us to maximize shore diving opportunities. Their network of shops made it easy to grab tanks, rinse gear, and avoid unnecessary travel. After our stay, I can confidently say it was the perfect choice. During our trip, we visited three Dive Friends locations with house reefs, which allowed us to safely leave valuables in the car or check them in with the staff. We could easily exchange tanks, rinse gear, and even shower after dives. The shop’s daily hours (8 AM–5 PM) were sufficient with proper planning. With our unlimited air package, we could check out two tanks per person at a time, ensuring we always had full tanks ready for early morning or evening dives. For my orientation dive, Koa was a fantastic guide, pointing out all kinds of marine life—from red fish to blue fish and everything in between. Another diver in our group was brand new and struggled with equalizing. I watched as Koa calmly assisted them, ensuring they worked through the issue and allowing the dive to continue smoothly. Camilla handled my dive buddy’s Open Water referral course. While I didn’t train with her directly, from what I saw and overheard, she was thorough and dedicated to preparing new divers for a safe experience. If you're looking to get certified by Camilla, be prepared to demonstrate full mastery of your skills—she doesn’t cut corners! We also booked a trip to Klein Bonaire with Dive Friends. Our boat captain, Jason, provided a safe and entertaining trip, complete with an unexpected and unforgettable encounter with a pod of dolphins, which stayed with us far longer than I would have imagined—much to everyone's delight. At our home base shop at Delfins, Evaa and Ben were not only knowledgeable and helpful but also added humor to our day, making every visit enjoyable. Midway through the trip, I ran into an issue with my high-pressure hose, which began leaking on my Sherwood Wisdom 2 air-integrated dive computer. Given its age and quick-disconnect feature, I was unsure if it could be repaired. The staff at the main Dive Friends shop assured me it could be fixed, though I would lose the quick disconnect. It was an easy decision. We went across the street for lunch, and by the time we returned, the computer was fully repaired and ready to dive again. Super simple and back to diving! Since my dive buddy wasn’t quite ready for a night dive, I signed up for a guided UV night dive. Our guide, Jack, provided an excellent experience, giving us the freedom to explore while maintaining a safe level of oversight. Talking with Jack post-dive, I was blown away by his vast firsthand knowledge of the dive industry and global destinations. While I can't compare Dive Friends directly to other shops on the island, I can say without hesitation that I would absolutely recommend them. Their staff, service, repair capabilities, training, and guiding all make them a first-class operation.

We are experienced divers, but had not been divivg for several years. We were required to do a refresher course when we arrived at our resort, which I wasn't initially happy about. But as we got more into the course, we found the refresh skills to be substantially more in-depth than our initial training. Our main instructor, Davide, was very helpful and patient, and I felt he was an excellent resource, teaching us how some of the rules have changed in the 20 years since we were certified. Our assistant instructor, Essimae (I am probably butchering the spelling on their names), was also very helpful, knowledgeable, and a very kind-hearted person. I highly recommend both the instructors and their dive shops.

Top Notch experience with this dive outfit!! Absolutely cannot wait to come back. Daviden was so helpful in the shop, I really wanted to find a seahorse and Andy put me on not one, but two seahorses. Roderick set some of our group up with rental gear at the start of the trip and set a fantastic tone for the whole week. We also went on a boat dive out of Port Bonaire Saturday. Mona and our captain were phenomenal, highly recommend for access to north dive sites unreachable from shore and Klein.

Best diveshop for your unlimited shore dives, easy going and friendly. Nitrox 29-32%, tanks filled up to 220 bar / 3500 psi. We loved it and will tell all our dive friends 🤿🪸

Absolutely phenomenal SCUBA diving in Bonaire. What really made the trip spectacular was the staff at Dive Friends Bonaire. Safety first, always a good choice, and awesome, knowledgeable people leading the dives. I have been lucky enough to dive with you in 2023. Had the opportunity to dive with you again in January 2025, this time with my son, best friend and some great folks from National Aquatic Services of Syracuse, New York. The diving was great, your staff made it awesome. Thank You all! Ilse, Kim, Denise, James, Mona, Zoe, Camille-DMT (divemaster in training), Sandor-DMT, Joan, Nyanne, Darcy A special Thanks to Mona and Denise. Having to miss the last day of diving due to ear issues was unfortunate. However, I'm very happy I took the boat ride. Getting to know you both, while the others were under water, made that day, the best day.

Hamlet is great! There's a guy there who always had super friendly service. There's a woman there with a high ponytail who was friendly and said hi to us each time we were there as well. Lots of parking, but guests kind of suck at being out of the way while swapping out tanks? They fill tanks at this location so there are always plenty available. It should literally take 2 minutes to swap out your 2 tanks per person but some people somehow block half the parking lot? Large dunk tanks for multiple divers, lots of place to set up your gear. Apparently there's a manta swimming around this season but we weren't able to see it after multiple dives 🙁 Super easy to navigate, follow the pipe in the water out to the drop off. EXCELLENT place to watch the sunset at the picnic tables.

Stephanie Newton was truly the best instructor we could have asked for, and we are so grateful that we worked with her to complete the open water portion of our certification on our honeymoon! I was very excited for the experience, but also had a healthy dose of nerves about this next step in the process, and she was so supportive, encouraging, and knowledgeable every step of the way. It made such a huge difference to my experience to feel that I could sincerely trust her and knew that she was truly rooting for me the whole time. She was able to match the different needs of my wife and I so seamlessly and knew exactly the type of guidance and reassurance that we each needed. It is absolutely thanks to Steph and her instruction that I felt so comfortable branching out into this new adventure, and I can’t wait to continue to experience all that diving has to offer now that I have gained so much confidence in my own skills. Great experience with Dive Friends. Their multiple locations on the island make it extremely convenient to not only swap out tanks, but also to rinse off, refill water bottles, or grab a replacement mouthpiece. All of the staff we interacted with over our two weeks were helpful. However, Jack and Zoe, at the Delfins location, really stood out. Jack always greeted us with a smile and a story, and had great knowledge of not just the diving spots, but the island in general. Zoe was also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend.

Working with Dive Friends Bonaire for my Open Water Certification has been a pleasant experience from start to finish. Emily is an amazing instructor! Her relaxed and calm demeanor made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process and I never felt like I was taking too much time to learn or practice a skill. She has a great balance of being chill while ensuring I was learning correctly and safely. Sometimes she let me make my mistakes when it was safe so I could learn from them, and other times she would help me and debrief about it after, such as pulling me down to correct my buoyancy, then talking about it when we surfaced so I knew what to work on next time. Emily’s knowledge and teaching style are exceptional, she explained everything clearly without making it feel overwhelming. She pointed out skills I did well at which boosted my confidence in the water and with my gear. Emily has an endless pool of patience. Whenever I made a mistake, she corrected me in a way that was constructive and never made me feel embarrassed or ashamed. If you're looking for an instructor who is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely supportive, I highly recommend Emily!

Lionfish hunter specialty: great fun! This week I took the Lionfish hunter specialty with Rachella. She is a great teacher and a terrific person! After I succesfully killed a soda can we went for two dives: first at Cliff, homereef of DFB Hamlet and then Oil slick. We did not find any lionfishes, but I still had a great day. I take it as a small sign that Bonairian divers are getting ahead in bringing down the numbers. Look forward to doing more hunting dives in the waters of Bonaire!

Pros: Unlimited tanks was a sweet deal, pick up tanks anytime during dive shop hours (from multiple locations). Ilse, Jason and Lars were friendly, knowledgeable and personable! Plenty of freedom during dives. Cons: 1 hour max dive time, request for dive north of the island was ignored, last dive was 14 people on a small boat, no snacks (only small single cookie) and tiny thermos of cofffee.

Great Week of Diving! Dove last week with the crew at Dive Friends. It was great. We dove almost all of our dives guided. They were great. We started things off with Stephanie at Yellow Submarine. Excellent dives to get acclimated and comfortable in Bonaire. Zoe took us to several cool sites including the Cliffs, Invisible and Bachelor’s Beach. We were able to drop down in the middle of a bait ball and let me tell you, that was truly magnificent. Lars took us for a night dive at The Lake across from the salt mine. We finished off with a two tank set of boat dives. We were able to see a couple of sites off of Klein Bonaire, sites inaccessible from Bonaire by shore. James did a great job with the group. Keep up the good work and thanks for a great week!

Entire staff was friendly and very professional . Steve taught us more in our one dive than we'd learned in several previous dives. He also pointed out several creatures for us to look at. We are older divers. I have peripheral neuropathy so getting in and out is difficult for me. The staff was able to direct us to sites that worked for me! Wonderful advice. Noted that Amy got a week of Botox tanks. We weren't offered Botox. Only Nitrox. Did we miss out on something? 🤔?
